A private houseboat escape on the Padma River with char village walks, sunsets and the historic Teota Zamindar palace.

Depart Dhaka at 08:00 by air-conditioned vehicle for the 1.5-hour drive to Mawa River Port, watching the landscape shift from urban to rural. Board the private houseboat, check into your cabin and receive a safety briefing before cruising upstream on the majestic Padma (Ganges). In the afternoon anchor near a secluded char for a guided walk to a riverine village, then return to the deck for a sunset spectacle followed by a BBQ dinner and campfire, anchoring overnight near Paturia Ferry Port.
Enjoy early tea or coffee and an optional walk on the sandy char shores before a hearty breakfast on board. Disembark near Paturia/Aricha Ghat and drive to the Teota Landlord Palace (Zamindar Bari) to explore the sprawling historic estate of the Zamindar era. Re-board for the final leg of the cruise, enjoy a farewell lunch, and disembark at Paturia/Aricha Ghat for the return journey.
Mahadi at Bangladesh Eco Adventure and team really made the trip a dream come true — they handled all logistics, were on time, excellent communicators, well priced and had immense local knowledge. We went to the Sundarbans for a few days, as well as day tours in Sonargaon and Dhaka. Sundarbans in particular is a must see. Myself and my friends had a wonderful time and would not hesitate to recommend them as the people to trust with all your travel and tourism in Bangladesh.
