Hike misty hills, cruise the Sangu River, meet Tripura, Mro and Bawm tribes, and ride the train through rural Bangladesh to Chittagong.

Board the first nonstop train from Dhaka to Chittagong, a scenic ride through countryside, villages and rivers. On arrival visit the Sitakunda ship breaking yards, one of the world's largest, and the nearby scrap markets, then drive 100 km to Bandarban, stopping at scenic viewpoints for sunset.
Start with a short hike to a Tripura tribal village in the foothills, known for vibrant clothing and intricate ornaments. Enjoy a traditional tribal lunch of bamboo shoots, hill herbs and smoked meats, then board a country boat for a Sangu River cruise as villagers bathe, fish and play by the riverside at sunset.
Explore the tribal markets, best on Sunday or Wednesday, where Marma, Mro, Tripura and Bawm groups gather to trade and socialize. Drive deeper into the hills to visit Mro and Bawm villages known for their weaving traditions, then head to Tiger Hill to watch the sunset over the misty hills.
Drive back to Chittagong, stopping to explore the WWII Cemetery, the Chandanpura Mosque and the bustling port area. Board the afternoon train to Dhaka, enjoying a final look at the countryside, and arrive in the evening for the end of the tour.
Mahadi at Bangladesh Eco Adventure and team really made the trip a dream come true — they handled all logistics, were on time, excellent communicators, well priced and had immense local knowledge. We went to the Sundarbans for a few days, as well as day tours in Sonargaon and Dhaka. Sundarbans in particular is a must see. Myself and my friends had a wonderful time and would not hesitate to recommend them as the people to trust with all your travel and tourism in Bangladesh.
